What is Maintenance?

Maintenance covers issues arising as a result of changes outside of your control, such as environmental changes, language and frameworks changes, protections against new security vulnerabilities and other outside factors which affect the ongoing operation of the application. Below you’ll see examples of what is and isn’t maintenance.
Maintenance Is:
  • AWS deprecates the support of the node.js version used by the application
  • A feature fails to function properly due to an outdated library, framework or SDK.
  • The server is restarted for maintenance by AWS, doesn’t boot up, and needs our intervention for recovery.
Maintenance Is Not:
  • Any work associated with HIPAA GDPR, CCPA, ISO, SOC2, other compliance requirements.
